We are a national children's charity, Providing help and support since 2012 (Registration Number:1150013).
We assist children and young adults in the UK that are below 18 years of age with a wide range of adverse medical conditions including Leukaemia, Cerebral Palsy, the Deaf and Blind, Terminal Illnesses, and all other life hindering conditions.
We work closely with Social services and other healthcare services.
We provide emotional and practical support to enable us to take children out of social isolation, increase inclusion and help the children lead more fulfilled lives, we aim to do this by way of providing disability equipment, respite, educational opportunities and support to parents and carers.
Our aim is to help as many children and their families as possible, whether it be for day trips, medical equipment, respite, hospital travel, or sadly making children's remaining time as comfortable as possible, to include where achievable, children's last wishes.
What We Do:
We purchase or make grants towards equipment to improve the quality of life of children.
We help with hospital travel costs.
We make grants to cover treatment.
We provide respite, mainly at our specially adapted holiday home at the Golden Sands Haven resort, Mablethorpe, LincolnshireThis year (2018), we have provided respite/holidays for 31 families at our holiday home.
We help with the cost of house adaptations.
At Make Them Smile we don’t just sustain a child's life, we help to improve it, in turn, boosting the child's self-esteem and confidence, making life a joyous experience and creating fantastic memories.
